Our monetary goal for camp was $7,000. The day before camp started we had raised $7,025. Over the course of the week we actually ended up going “over budget” by $1500. But after coming back home and checking everything we ended up raising more money and received over $10,000. That pays for this years camp and starts next years camp fund. Praise God for providing for our needs and provisioning for next year. Click here to view camp photos.
Kingdombound 2010
Ride to Recovery will once again have a booth set up at the increasingly popular Kingdombound music festival, which takes place from August 1-3. This year you will find us among the booths down by the park stage, which is next to the superman. Stop by and say hi!!
Houghton Camps
For 3 days last week, and 3 days this week Ride to Recovery has been in Houghton, New York to provide mountain biking as an activity at the Weslyan Church’s annual youth camp. This is the fourth year we have done this, and the kids really seem to enjoy it. However the mountain biking is only part of the reason we are there. We are also down there to share the love of Christ with these kids through Rich’s testimony.
Maintenance
A few of us got together today to work on all the bikes and get them ready for our first race. It went great!! All of the bikes are ready to rock and roll!! We changed cables, cleaned and lubed chains, washed the bikes, and best of all, we got to put on some of the new tires that we got donated. For those of you that don’t know, we picked up CST tires as a sponsor after they saw the article on us in mountain bike action magazine!! They sent us 50 tires and tubes….just enough to replace the tires on all 25 bikes!! Thanks CST, we’ll put them to good use!!
Last trip to Rays MTB
We are currently planning our final trip of the season to rays mtb indoor riding park in Cleveland, Ohio. We will be going down in mid april sometime, the exact date will be posted as soon as it is set. Space is limited to about 22 people so if you want to go you need to reserve a seat asap. Cost to go will be $25 and that includes your entry fee, A bike to ride if you need one, a helmet, and food/drink for the day.

Also, please keep Rich in your prayers, he had shoulder surgery a few weeks and is still recovering. He is doing much better and has gained back most of his range of motion. I’m sure a few of you have realized that we haven’t gone to Rays in a few months. This is due to Rich’s surgery, and multiple other reasons. We are planning on organizing a trip down as soon as Rich feels his shoulder is ready, so watch for announcements regarding that on here and facebook.
God Bless, Destin.
