Ride to Recovery is a non-profit organization that aims to share the love of Jesus Christ with today’s youth. We started out as a mountain bike ministry but we are now a youth ministry with mountain bikes as one of the activities. We take kids out riding, and show them that being a Christian doesn’t have to be boring and that they can have fun without the use of drugs and alcohol. We also, include a cookout or food and devotion after the ride. We bring the bikes, helmets, drinks, and food. If you are interested in having us take your group mountain biking, contact us, we would love to set something up with you!! We try to do weekly rides in the summer to get kids out from in front of the TV/computer, and on bikes getting exercise. Rich is also does speaking engagements. He gives his testimony and tells people about the rescuing power of God. Life is about choices and we need to make the right choices in order not to to live in regret, later on.
-For any kids who show a serious interest, we offer the chance to go out racing on the local xc race circuit. This is an extreme challenge, but the feeling that kids get from finishing something they never thought they could is definitely worth it!!
-Every August we do a camp in Varysburg NY, where the youth are offered a chance to come hang out and have a good time, and hear the Gospel. We have guest speakers, live music, great catered meals and demos. There is also a pool, a gym, a pond for fishing and canoes, trails for mountain biking, a rec hall, and much more. It is always a great time for everyone who comes!!!
-In the winter we make a few trips to a 110,000 square foot indoor riding park in Cleveland, Ohio called Ray’s MTB. The park has jumps, and obstacles for all skill levels from beginners to professionals. For more information on the park visit www.raysmtb.com. For pictures from our trips to Ray’s click here.
-We meet for “Extreme Faith Fridays” on the third Friday of every month at batavia assembly of God (24 north spruce street, 7pm-9pm) where we do a devotion, play games, fellowship, and eat pizza. Everyone is welcome!!
